Application Process

Application Requirements

  1. Submit an online application
  2. Pay the application fee electronically through your application portal or you can pay by check or money order. The check/money order needs to be made payable to the University of Arkansas and mailed to: 340 N. Campus Dr. Gearhart Hall, Room 213, Fayetteville, AR 72701.  A  late fee will be assessed for applications submitted after the deadline. The CEMB program does not collect the application fee and can not waive the application fee. When applicants secure a faculty sponsor, they may ask the sponsor to arrange for the application fee.
  3. Upload copies of your unofficial transcripts to your application portal, upon admission official copies of your transcripts will be required. To be official, your transcript must come from your previous university electronically to gradapp@uark.edu or by mail to: 340 N. Campus Dr. Gearhart Hall, Room 213, Fayetteville, AR 72701.
  4. The GRE is only required to qualify for additional fellowships or to augment your application qualifications.  You should request your official GRE test score be sent to the University of Arkansas (institution code: 6866)
  5.  If your native language is not English, submit verification of English proficiency.  Note that the English requirement is administered by the graduate school and not the CEMB program. The program can not waive or certify the English requirement. For questions about English proficiency contact gradapp@uark.edu.

Additional Program Requirements 

  1. Three letters of recommendation (submitted through your applicant portal)
  2. CEMB applicant profile . Guidance is provided on the Information for Applicants page.
  3. Faculty sponsor : To be considered for admission to the program, you must have a faculty sponsor. See the button on the Information for Applicants page for more details.

 

Application Processing 

Applications are evaluated only when they are nearly or fully complete, and are processed in the order in which they are received.

Graduate Assistantships begin to be awarded in January for the fall semester and continue through the spring term. If you want your application to be considered during January for fall admission, you should have all materials submitted by December 1.
